Shows the bright delightful side of Pinot with a spicy bouquet of black cherry and strawberry. The wine floats across the palate with a display of soft fruit flavors followed by soft tannins. Its velvety smooth texture is irresistible. Pairs with grilled salmon or roast duck.

Domaine Lafond, “Roc Epine”, Cote du Rhone, France, 2007Domaine Lafond, “Roc Epine”, Cote du Rhone, France, 2007, $14.99
These are among the oldest vineyards of the world. The Côtes du Rhône wine is very pleasant thanks to its up-front flavors of ripe fruits, cherry, blackcurrant and undergrowth. On the palate, it's very mellow with a good complexity, joining together suppleness, fruit and concentration. Try this with a pot roast or veal stew.

Ravaille Ferres, Ermitage, Pic St. Loup, Languedoc, France, 2005Ravaille Ferres, Ermitage, Pic St. Loup, Languedoc, France, 2005, $17.99
This wine opens with notes of game, sage, cassis foliage and black fruits. In the mouth, its concentrated black fruits are accompanied by smoke and crushed stone, leading to a smooth, long, black fruit finish. The peppery, earthy flavors and tannic astringency of this sturdy red call for a sizzling strip steak from the grill!
Sierra Vista, Syrah, Sierra Foothills, California, 2006Sierra Vista, Syrah, Sierra Foothills, California, 2006, $13.99
Dark purple color with complex aromas of black stone fruits, oak, and hints of smoke are the trademarks of this Syrah. It is a medium bodied red, with soft tannins, great fruit and spice levels and a rich, finish. Try this with barbequed ribs.
Chateau d’Oupia, Les Heretiques, Languedoc , France, 2007Chateau d’Oupia, Les Heretiques, Languedoc , France, 2007, $11.99
This is a wonderful blend of Carignan from 70-year-old vines and Syrah. A complex and hearty red, Les Heretiques is bursting with ripe berry flavor. The tannins are well-balanced and the finish long. This matched very well with a goat cheese and mushroom stuffed pork tenderloin.

Level 2 Featured White Wines:
Clos Lapeyre, Juracon Sec, France, 2005Clos Lapeyre, Juracon Sec, France, 2005, $12.99
This organic white from the French Pyrenees is 100% Gros Manseng grape; this is a firm, mineral driven white with notes of fresh herbs, green apple and quince. This white is delicate and refreshing; however, its complexity and concentration will undoubtedly impress you. Enjoy a glass with sizzling garlic shrimp!

Cartlidge & Brown, Sauvignon Blanc, Dancing Crow Vineyard, California, 2007Cartlidge & Brown, Sauvignon Blanc, Dancing Crow Vineyard, California, 2007, $13.99
Dancing Crow Vineyard's 28 acres of Sauvignon Blanc have been farmed organically since 2004. This is a wine with aromas and flavors of melon, guava and stone fruits. The lush texture is a product of ideal ripening and extended lees contact. This was great with pan seared trout.

Huber, “Hugo”, Gruner Veltliner, Austria, 2007Huber, “Hugo”, Gruner Veltliner, Austria, 2007, $13.99
This wine has delicate fresh green apple fruity aromas; displaying flavors of lemon; lime and peaches; solid fruit core; rich in finesse; with a beautiful length and mineral tones. We had this with a crab and radicchio salad and it was perfect!

Domaine Pepiere, Muscadet sur et Maine, Loire, France, 2007, $15.99
The aromas of fresh apple and almond with subtle floral overtones. Surprisingly silken in texture but fresh and lively on the palate, it clings impressively with apple, nut oil and faintly fruit flavors. This is another wine that goes well with seafood; we recommend oysters on the half shell.
Huntington, Chardonnay, California, 2006, $12.99
Aromas of tropical pear, green apple and a whisper of vanilla. The flavors are fresh and distinctive with brightly punctuated pear, apple and lemony citrus. This is a perfectly balanced Chardonnay with bright, fresh fruit flavors. Try this with your favorite grilled chicken breast recipe.
Dipinti, Muller Thurgau, Trentino, Italy, 2006Dipinti, Muller Thurgau, Trentino, Italy, 2006, $15.99
A cross of Riesling and Sylvaner, this wine is a bright straw color with hints of green and characteristic intense aromas of flowers, apricot and fennel. On the palate, the wine is dry, light-bodied and crisp with fresh peach, mango and apricot fruit. We had this with scallops baked in puff pastry and it rocked!
